Childbirth education is of great value to parents as they prepare for the birth of their child.
One day compressed course with most the information covered but with less time for review and practice.
Emphasis upon breathing awareness, relaxation technique
We encourage a natural, balanced approach, while preparing parents-to-be for possible interventions that might occur during childbirth.
Course Content
• signs and symptoms of labour
• stages of labour
• breathing exercises
• relaxation techniques
• position changes
• massage
• role of the coach
• interventions that may occur (inductions, caesarian section, vacuum, episiotomy)
• medications available for use in labour and delivery
•breastfeeding and bringing baby home
Classes are offered in small groups, taught by experienced childbirth educators who are also mothers.
